David Coddington: -
As Vice President of Business Development for the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance, David heads up the Business development group at the Alliance. The Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance is the designated economic development organization (EDO) in Broward County that focuses on targeted industries. The Alliance's primary role within the targeted industries is to attract and retain job creators and capital investment to Broward County. The Alliance works with several different partners to accomplish their goals, one of the strength's of Broward County is the collaboration between the economic engines, the close working relationship with municipal partners both at the city and county level and the relationship with both consultants and brokers.The business development team visits 175 companies a year to stay connected to the economic pulse of the County. Many times issues for companies presently conducting business here are about communication and a bit of knowledge. Through the visitation program, the Alliance is able to assist companies with a variety of issues, as well as build a data base of all the different types of companies with in the County and the trends that may be occurring. David's focus is in the technology cluster. He is the Co-chair of the South Florida TechGateway, which is the regional effort to bring visibility and support to the world class technology companies that are located in South Florida. The TechGateway brings together both industry and academia to assist growing the technology brand South Florida.
